I admit, I’m a big softy. I am incredibly sentimental and many things, people, and milestones are represented in my home. For instance, the coleus plant in this corner of my kitchen started as a souvenir from the first outdoor space that I was HIRED to design. I took a tiny clipping to remember the project and now it steals the show in my kitchen, living room, bathroom and also in my garden.

Before and afters are always fun, but sometimes the process lasts longer than you’d expect. That’s what happened when I painted this room a beautiful shade of olive green. I loved the color, but I didn’t love living around it. I called it the wicked witch room🧟‍♀️ (cackle cackle) and it stayed that way for over a year while I figured it out. One late night, I grabbed a chip brush (do not recommend) turned on some music and gave this room a new vibe.

I’m thinking about getting a Spotify account because everyone needs a painting playlist, right?!!

I love when I can add something vintage to a room. Everything in my kitchen was relatively new and it felt like something was missing. When I found this old set of French doors I knew that their worn look and the added storage was just what I needed to complete my small kitchen.
