Apartment Therapy just reposted my studio apartmen

Apartment Therapy just reposted my studio apartment. It was 296 square feet and this is the place that changed my life.

Before people saw this space I was just making a functional home for myself. It was the smallest place that I’d ever lived in. I took extra care to make sure that every nook and cranny felt like the soft landing that I needed.

When it took off it opened my eyes and every door that came after. I felt hopeful and encouraged and found a community here.

Mansion mindset is the only way I know how to explain it. It was never about the size. It was about deciding that wherever I am whether I own or rent (I’ve done both) deserves to be honored. That “wherever” isn’t just the physical space. It also includes where I am as a person.

I want to make the wherever and the whatever feel special. My friends tease me at the grocery store for grabbing that one extra thing to make dinner feel like something. It’s not being bougie, it’s an attempt to enjoy the life in front of me. Why not take that extra little step to make what you have fantastic?!!

That tiny apartment was mine so I treated it like a palace.

And now in the midst of all this expansion I just want to remember to breathe. Enjoy the little things. Not be so focused on the goal that I forget to look around.
